Chris Van Veen Marketing Communications

About

New Hampshire covered bridge

Chris Van Veen resides in southern New Hampshire, about one hour northwest of Boston.

A marketing communications management professional with very successful sales management experience as well, Chris has successfully helped high-tech corporations grow their business through greater awareness and visibility. He does this by balancing the strategic and tactical aspects of the function. At the strategic level, Chris works with senior managers and business unit leaders to develop various communications programs that fit a desired outcome. Trade shows might work for one market segment while a series of meetings with key industry analysts could yield excellent results in another.

Rather than outsource the work to other internal personnel or external vendors, Chris is particularly adept at working with the Adobe Creative Suite and other platforms to get tasks done. It also means being an excellent trade show and events manager, with a similar hands-on approach to detail and organization. Finally, Chris loves to write. From collateral and white papers to press releases and magazine articles, Chris focuses on making complex topics simple and easily understood so that core points come through loud and clear.

Chris is also an aviation enthusiast, having co-written a book on the history of the Manchester (NH) Airport called Manchester's Airport: Flying Through Time.

Chris has years of professional experience dealing with high-tech corporations in New England, and throughout the country. He has a background supported by a BS Degree in Marketing Communications from Bentley University, as well as an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

Chris's software skills cover both Windows and Macs, including Microsoft Office, Quark, Dreamweaver, and the Adobe Creative Suite.

  • The GEICO 'Abe Lincoln' commercial is one of the funniest I've ever seen. I cry laughing every time!
  • Arcade Fire is a brilliant band. Their new album, 'The Suburbs,' is jaw-dropping; a happier version of Pink Floyd's 'The Wall.'
  • I have concluded that a 3-1 World Cup match is equal to a hockey game ending 477-392.
  • BostonMed, a docu-drama put together by ABC News, is an excellent show. I highly recommend it.
  • England Keeper Robert Green is a familiar name now everywhere you go, for all the wrong reasons. But he has handled it with composure.
  • Tornado warnings on two consecutive days. In early June. In southern New Hampshire. We definitely aren't in Kansas, Toto.
  • Smoke and haze from fires in Quebec blanketed southern New Hampshire today, and further south into Boston and Cape Cod.
  • Peggy Noonan of The Wall Street Journal 'Gets It.' Unlike almost any other political writer, she writes like I think. Today's was brilliant.
  • Looking for current-vintage ARRL Study Guides for both the General Class & the Extra Class ham radio licenses.
  • I finished my 20m vertical antenna and it seems to work well! W1CVV is back on the air. Maybe the antenna will tune on other bands?
